Quality Clouds 24.5.0.0 Release Notes


Release date: 3rd of April, 2024


New general improvements


This release includes new page labeled as 'My Issues' in which changes to local files that are supported by Quality Clouds LiveCheck scans are shown. It also shows the latest LiveChecks done to the files and generates statistics on LiveCheck coverage, blocker issues and Time to fix.

The new 'My Issues' page allows the user to have a global visibility of the work done after a specific date. This date can be set in the My Issues page.


The extension settings page now has a toggle to display only Blocker issues or all the issues on the default VSCode problems tab after a LiveCheck. The old Active issues setting is deprecated.


After launching a livecheck, the information regarding the issues is clearer and more concise.




Pre-requisites: Have access to Quality Clouds Admin Portal to connect an instance and ServiceNow version Quebec or later.

Description:

Certificate-based authentication verifies user logins or API requests using trusted certificates issued by a Certificate Authority (CA). This authentication method can be used to authenticate requests to ServiceNow SOAP and REST APIs. Since the interaction between Quality Clouds and ServiceNow instances is implemented via the REST API, it is possible to support Certificate Based authentication for this interaction, as an alternative to the Basic authentication mechanism, which was the only authentication method supported until this release.

Impact: To provide an alternative, even more secure, authentication alternative to the already existing Basic authentication for Quality Clouds to access your ServiceNow instance through the REST API. Note that Basic authentication is still supported.

    • Execute UpdateSet Scan



Pre-requisites: Have Quality Gate Add-on and access to Livecheck services and portal dashboards.


Description:

New categories are now available in order to group resulting issues according to Quality Gate conditions:


Blocking: Issues created after activation date and affected by blocking rules.
Minors: Issues created after activation date and not affected by blocking rules.
-Legacy: All issues created before activation date.                                                                                 

Note that warning issues and approved write-off issues are not included in the categoritsation section.

Impact: To automatically classify issues according to your Quality policies and technical debt management strategy.

    • To start a new project or release
    • To introduce a new service provider
    • To address remediation and get-better programs

  • Quality Gate categorised results are visible in the Debt Manager dashboard.

Pre-requisites: Have access to the Debt Manager dashboard and have Quality Gate enable.


Description:

When the Quality Gate toggle is activated, on the Debt Manager dashboard it is possible to check the Quality Gate categories before and after the Quality Gate activation date.

In the Debt Manager Dashboard there is a new column labeled as 'Quality Gate' which shows the issues classified by blocking, minors and legacy. 

When accessing to the Debt Manager dashboard it is possible to check the Quality Gate categories (Blocking, Minors and Legacy) selecting the Quality Gate filter.

    • Go to Quality Clouds Portal
    • Select the Debt Manager dashboard on the 'View' tab.
    • On the top of the Debt Manager dashboard you can select the Quality Gate filter and check the Quality Gate categories.
    • Also you can check the table displaying the last scan results data and make sure the Quality Gate column is visible.





Impact:
 To identify quickly the classification of issues according to the Quality Gate strategy.


Use cases:

    • To identify which issues are not aligned with the quality strategy at different points in time.
    • To identify which issues are aligned with the quality strategy for deploying code across various projects.
    • To identify which issues are resolved in accordance with the quality strategy within a specific time period.


  • New Quality Clouds login screen

Pre-requisites: Have access to Quality Clouds Portal.

Description:
On the right side of the login page, instead of displaying the Quality Clouds page prompting you to request a demo, it will display the 'learn more' page.



 
                 

Bug fixes

  • Livecheck for Salesforce error.

    Bug explanation:

    When a Salesforce livecheck api-key created by a user with role 'project user' is used, a 403 error is raised.

    Solution:

    This action is received as success.
